Available to a second year student (September intake) enrolled in the Instrumentation Engineering Technology program. This award will be granted on the basis of academic achievement and contribution to the ISA NAIT Student Section.
ISA Edmonton Section Scholarship (Winter) – $1,000.00, Awarded annually in the winter.
Available to a second year student (January intake) enrolled in the Instrumentation Engineering Technology program. This award will be granted on the basis of achievement and contribution to the ISA NAIT Student Section.
ISA Edmonton Section Mickey Mykitiuk Award – $1,000.00, Awarded annually.
Available to a student entering the second year of the Instrumentation Engineering Technology program. This award will be granted on the basis of academic achievement and contribution to the ISA NAIT Student Section.
ISA Edmonton Section R.T. McKenzie Memorial Award – $1,000.00, Awarded annually.
Available to a student entering the second year of the Instrumentation Engineering Technology program. This award will be granted on the basis of academic achievement and contribution to the ISA NAIT Student Section. Candidate must demonstrate financial need.
ISA Edmonton Section Women In Technology Donna Jackson Award (Winter) - $1,000.00, Awarded annually in the winter.
Available to students continuing into the second semester of the Instrumentation, Engineering Technology Program. To be awarded in the second semester based on academic achievement in the first semester, with preference given to a female student. In the event a suitable female candidate cannot be selected, the award can be given to a male student.

ISA Edmonton Section Scholarship – $750.00, Awarded annually.
Awarded to a student with superior academic achievement entering the Computer Process Control option program of the BSc degree in Chemical Engineering. Selection based on academic standing. Preference given to a candidate who holds an Engineering Technology Diploma from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) or Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) Polytechnic. If there is no suitable candidate, preference will be given to a student transferring from an official engineering transfer program within Alberta. In the event that there is no qualified student from either of these groups, the recipient will be selected from students who completed their first year in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Alberta. ISA Edmonton Section R.T. McKenzie Memorial Scholarship – $750.00, Awarded annually.
To be awarded to a student with superior academic achievement entering the first year in the Computer Process Control option leading to the degree of BSc in Chemical Engineering. The recipient will have achieved the highest academic standing in the qualifying year in Engineering. Application/Nomination Procedure: By nomination from the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering.
ISA Edmonton Section Millennium Scholarship – $1,000.00, Awarded annually.
To be awarded to a student with superior academic achievement entering the fifth term of study in the Computer Process Control option of the Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. The recipient will have achieved the highest academic standing in terms three and four while enrolled in the Computer Process Control option program. Application/Nomination Procedure: By nomination from the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering.
ISA Edmonton Section Dr. Reg K. Wood Scholarship – $1,000.00, Awarded annually.
To be awarded to a student with superior academic achievement entering the seventh term of study in the Computer Process Control Option of the Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering degree program. Recipient will be the student who achieves the highest academic standing in terms five and six of the Computer Process Control Option degree program. Application/Nomination Procedure: By nomination from the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering.
ISA Edmonton Section Scholarship – $250.00, Awarded annually.
To be awarded to the convocating student with the highest academic standing in the computer process control option. Application/Nomination Procedure: By nomination from the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering.

Bohdan (Bob) Bahniuk Scholarship – Amount depends on accrued interest of endowment fund. Awarded annually. Scholarship decisions are made by a committee of ISA Edmonton Section board members.
Funds provided by the ISA Edmonton Section in recognition of Bohdan (Bob) Bahniuk. Bohdan (Bob) Bahniuk graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in 1974. Bob began his career in Automation with Barber Engineering in 1978. In 1988 Bob moved to Spartan Controls. Bob retired from Spartan Controls at the end of 2014.
Bob has volunteered for many different organizations in his lifetime. He joined ISA in 1980 and held many different positions on the ISA Edmonton Section Board of Directors, including Section President in 1989-1990. Bob’s most important contribution to ISA Edmonton Section is his many years of leadership with the ISA Automation Expo & Conference (AEC). Bob was awarded the ISA Distinguished Society Service Award in 2007.
Criteria For NAIT Students - One scholarship is awarded annually to a student enrolled in the Instrumentation Engineering Technology program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, based on satisfactory academic achievement in the term they took INST1260 (Introduction to Unit Operations). Preference is given to those who have volunteered with the ISA Edmonton Section or in the community.
Criteria For U of A Students - One scholarship is awarded annually to a student enrolled in the second year of the Computer Process Control program in the Chemical Engineering faculty at the University of Alberta. Preference is given to those who have volunteered with the ISA Edmonton Section or in the community.
J.R. (Bob) Connell Memorial Scholarship – Amount depends on accrued interest of endowment fund. Awarded annually. Scholarship decisions are made by a committee of ISA Edmonton Section board members.
Funds provided by the ISA Edmonton Section in memory of J.R. (Bob) Connell. Bob Connell was an ISA member for over sixty years. Bob was an ISA Fellow who had a distinguished career in Instrumentation and Process Control. Bob started his engineering career with Taylor Instruments working under Greg Ziegler. Bob worked on instrumentation systems for Imperial Oil Limited and Syncrude Canada Limited for thirty years. After Bob retired from Imperial Oil he worked as an Instructor at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT).
Many NAIT students used Bob’s book, “Successful Instrumentation Applications.” The practical nature of his book helped many students understand how instruments work and how instruments are applied in the field.
Bob was a great supporter of students and a frequent contributor to ISA Edmonton Section Student Night. In 1994 Bob was honored by ISA with the Donald P. Eckman Education Award. Bob passed away on December 14, 2009 at the age of 84.

Criteria For U of A Students - One scholarship is awarded annually to a graduate student (automation/control major) or undergraduate student (enrolled in the final year of an engineering undergraduate program) at the University of Alberta, based on satisfactory academic achievement. Preference is given to those who have volunteered with the ISA Edmonton Section or in the community.

Educational Foundation Scholarship – $5,000.00, Awarded Annually.
Recipients of Awards are full-time college or university students in either a graduate, under-graduate or 2 year degree program with at least a GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Students should be enrolled in a program in automation and control or a closely related field.
ISA Executive Board Scholarship – Awarded amount varies. Awarded annually.
These funds were provided by past and present members of ISA's Executive Board. Preference is given to applicants with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
ISA Technical Division Scholarships – Awarded amount varies. Awarded annually.
Funds are provided by specific ISA Divisions. Scholarships are given to outstanding students pursuing careers in the area pertinent to the Division's activity. All Divisions, except Chemical and Petroleum Industry Division (ChemPID) and Food and Pharmaceutical Industries Division ask that completed applications be sent to a specific person (identified on the ISA Division Scholarships page).
