We are hiring one (1) FT Permanent DCS Information Systems Specialist working out of Gold Bar Wastewater Treatment Plant in Edmonton, AB!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As the DCS Information System Specialist, you will be responsible for the administration of the process control system and associated computer infrastructure for the Gold Bar Wastewater Treatment Plant. With the support of the Control System IT Analyst and contractors, the DCS Information System Specialist will be accountable for, but not limited to:
- Administrating the following:
- DeltaV control system
- Control servers and applications
- Network devices and remote communication
- Cybersecurity applications including whitelisting, SIEM and malware protection.
- Maintaining computer and network infrastructure, associated drawings and inventory documentation.
- Developing budget estimates and providing recommendations for process control system upgrades to ensure system performance and availability.
- Maintaining licensing support agreements.
- Planning and leading the required process control infrastructure upgrades and patching cycles.
- Ensuring required backups are available for disaster recovery and leading disaster and cybersecurity incident response activities.
- Monitoring cybersecurity applications such as SIEM, endpoint protection and system vulnerabilities, while recommending and leading required mitigations.
- Ensuring full availability, compatibility and vendor support of process control computer hardware and applications.
- Maintaining other plant networks including power monitoring and building management systems.
- Supporting plant applications such as equipment vibration monitoring database, instrument database, plant historian and AMS software.
- Meeting or exceeding established company or industry standards for process control systems and cybersecurity.
- Demonstrating a high performance, high discipline, safe, accountable, focused, innovative and achievement-oriented, easy to do business with manner of working.
- Mentor and instruct activities of control system IT analyst.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Qualifications, experience and behaviours you possess are:
- Completion of a 2-year diploma in Computer or Instrument Engineering Technology from a
recognized post-secondary educational institute, or a 4-year degree in Computer Science,
Engineering or equivalent.
- Completion of a 2-year diploma in Computer or Instrument Engineering Technology from a
recognized post-secondary educational institute, or a 4-year degree in Computer Science,
Engineering or equivalent.
- 7-10 years of directly related experience with:
- Distributed control system administration (preferably with Emerson DeltaV)
- Leading the implementation of control system upgrades or migrations in operating
plants
- OT system configuration, operation and implementation in an industrial facility
- Windows server administration, domain administration and virtualization
- Certification as an Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) with A.S.E.T. will be considered an
asset.
- Leading high dollar value projects, and planning and executing shutdowns and control system
upgrades in an operating plant.
- Training in DeltaV systems administration and virtualization.
- Familiar with high availability virtualization hardware and virtualization management software,
preferably in DeltaV environment.
- Experience setting up and using automated backup tools (preferably Acronis).
- Familiarity with applicable cyber security standards such as NIST800-82 and ANSI/ISA-
62443.
- Demonstrated leadership of cybersecurity system support and administration.
- Field knowledge of various bus architectures and protocols (Fieldbus, DeviceNet, Profibus).
- Experience with network administration, configuration and troubleshooting.
- Awareness of industrial protocols and interfacing PLCs to distributed control systems.
- Comfortable in creating and updating network drawings using Visio and AutoCAD.
- Experience in fibre optic infrastructure including specifying equipment and connectors,
interpreting test results and maintain related drawings.
