Job Description
• Position Profile •
This role is for a Senior PLC experienced candidate ONLY (preferably Rockwell PLC's & PlantPAx familiar). You will be based out of our EDMONTON office, but may spend up to 30% of your time on site to support Engineering, Commissioning and Planned Support Services within western Canada.

Interface with Peers, vendors, EPCs and endusers to effectively work through complex project design issues and interface points. Must be a competent communicator and driven towards achieving project success & milestones.
Job Responsibilities
• System Configuration •
Program (IEC 61131-3) for various PLC suite environments (Studio5000 an Asset). Develop Human-Machine Interface (HMI) graphics based on client’s defined Operator Interface standards.
• Verification and Acceptance Testing •
Develop and participate in Apex Automation's internal Hardware and Software QA/QC testing programs. (IVT's)
• Plant Commissioning at Customer sites •
Perform Loop checks and help to troubleshoot field instrumentation. Execute functionality testing of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) / Graphics checks. Test 3rd party interfaces. Provide support for integration with business systems (Plant Information / Maintenance Management / Asset Management Systems / Vantagepoint an asset). Troubleshooting all aspects of system functionality Allen Bradley hardware and software. Act on the client’s behalf to interface with system vendor(s) for timely resolution of all defects and deficiencies.
• Documentation •
Provide high quality written documentation as per Apex Automation expectations. Prepare engineering work packages including schedules and bills of materials. Generate and manage sign off process for Management of Change, Controller Download and other change management documentation (MOC’s). Master of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Visio, MS Project) is essential.
Job Requirements
• 10 APEX Requirements •
- B.Sc. in Electrical, Computer or Chemical Engineering (emphasis on Process Control an asset).
- Strong technical/computer background
- Exceptional mentorship and leadership traits
- Strong communication skills and customer service
- Successfully manage multiple priorities and assignments
- Work independently and within a team environment
- Travel required
- Valid Class 5 driver license required
- Entrepreneurial work ethic
- Canadian Citizen or Canadian Permanent Resident
