President's Message - Re-evaluate. Reinvent. Celebrate!

Thank you to all ISA Edmonton Section members for continuing to trust me as your 2020-2021 President while we navigate the pandemic.

Re-evalute. Reinvent. Celebrate! With the incredible success of our AEC 2020 Virtual Transformation (our flagship event was brought to you virtually for the first time in history this past October; congrats again to the AEC Team), I am inspired to look at new ways of doing things. Watch for further updates on what we'll be doing differently; think virtual brown bag (lunch hour) technical talks, more involvement by our board members at the Divisions level, and more.

2021 marks the ISA Edmonton Section's Golden Anniversary; I can't wait to celebrate the success of our Section. We are one of the best Sections in the world. By best I mean the Section that consistently gets the most industry professionals to our monthly technical talks and tours, the Section with the biggest golf tournament (the Fall Classic is a first-class affair and sold-out this past September for the 5th time in a row), and the Section that produces the most impressive automation event in North America. Stay tuned for more details on the party we're planning for our 50th (hopefully in the spring)...

Last but not least, my 2019-2021 President's Message was "Let's Grow Our Membership!" and I'm thrilled to announce that we jumped up four spots from 8th to 4th largest section in the world (not too bad considering the COVID-19 pandemic and current economic environment). Thank you to everyone that joined, renewed and referred/promoted. Please, let's continue to focus on this - the more members, the merrier.
