On Friday, May 1, 2015 the ISA Edmonton Section sponsored a field trip to the Leduc #1 Energy Discover Centre for a group of students from Our Lady of Victories school . Grade 4 and 5 students were treated to a day of learning about the history of oil in Alberta and the oil industry.
One of the ISA Edmonton Section's mandates is to promote a career in automation and instrumentation. The Section also sponsors the not-for-profit Leduc #1 Energy Discover Centre. "We thought that hosting a students at the Leduc #1 was a great opportunity to promote our field as well as to support the Leduc #1", says Dave Robinson, ISA Edmonton Section Board Member. Dave coordinated the field trip with Peter Meurs (Principal at Our Lady of Victories), Brennan Paluck (Grade 4 Teacher), Louela Monsod (Grade 5 Teacher) and the kind folks at the Leduc #1 Discover Centre.
