Presentation Abstract
ISA has been making significant strides in the last few years related to cybersecurity standards, technical reports, and guidance. This presentation will provide a quick summary of ISA99, also known as IEC62443, its many documents and the role of each. Learn how these are used at different stages of the control systems lifecycle such as design, security assessment, hardening, etc. Donovan will describe how he uses ISA99 to evaluate a control systems architecture, identify appropriate security controls, as well as profile a cybersecurity program with specific examples. The discussion will also include examples of those organizations using it and how.
Presenter Bio
Donovan Tindill is a Senior Security & Compliance Consultant at Honeywell in Edmonton. For over 15 years, Donovan has specialized in cybersecurity for industrial automation & control systems (IACS) for a wide variety of industries. He is an ISA99/IEC62443 contributor, trainer, former co-chair of Working Group 6, lead editor for ISA-62443-2-3:2015 Patch Management for IACS. He is the Department Homeland Security (DHS) Industrial Control Systems Joint Working Group (ICSJWG) Steering Team (IST) Vendor representative, helping to plan and organize the twice yearly ICSJWG meetings. He is a speaker at DigitalBond S4, Public Safety Canada ICS Workshops, ICSJWG, SecurityWeek ICS Cyber Security Conference, ISA Edmonton events, and ISA events across US, etc.
